HOMELESS '99 is a 35mm short that exposes a day in the life of a destitute man. Michael Baines, as he panhandles change in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. The soundtrack features colorful philosophies of the homelessness condition, taken from interviews with a variety of Chicagoans.
The film was produced with a 1999 Independent Vision Grant from Independent Feature Project Midwest. The grant coincided with the Chicago exhibition of Dockers Classically Independent Film Festival.
