I WAS THERE WHEN THE BLUES WAS RED HOT is a 16mm, B&W, 60-minute documentary film based on the non-fiction book by Chicago blues guitarist Fernando Jones. Through the perspective of Jones, the film criss-crosses the Blues Capitol of the World to reveal the changing face of blues music.
The film stars Buddy Guy, Willie Dixon, Johnny Winter, Rick Danko, The Kinsey Report, Big Daddy Kinsey, Mad Dog Lester, Katharine Davis, Casey Jones, 'Prof' Eddie Lusk, Shirli Dixon, Butch Dixon, Fernando Jones, Chip Ratliff, Andre Cotton, Buzz Kilman, Dick Shurman, Lefty Dizz, Big Daddy Kinsey, Foree Superstar, and The Griff Band.
