D.P. CARLSON
D.P. (Dave) CARLSON, an award-winning independent filmmaker with Film Foetus, Inc., began his career in Chicago in 1988. His work as a producer and director has been showcased across the nation at film festivals, art houses, universities, and on television. Carlson's early independent projects include directing music video programs within the Chicago Blues scene and for the legendary WORD JAZZ artist Ken Nordine. He also produced & directed the acclaimed feature "Chicago Filmmakers on the Chicago River."
In 1999, Carlson was honored with the Panavision-sponsored Founders Award for the Most Promising Midwest Filmmaker, and in 2001, the Gene Siskel Film Center hosted a retrospective of his work as part of the Starring Chicago film series. His recent films have explored the creative processes of Adrian Belew, The Bears, Joe Frank and Paul Stanley from KISS. Carlson's corporate and broadcast work includes directing documentaries for clients such as Warner Bros Home Video, Walgreen Co, MOJO, IN-HD, CSTV, and FoxSportsNet. He has also served as a cameraman for specials on channels like Discovery Channel, PBS, MSNBC, American Movie Classics, BET, The Learning Channel, and National Geographic Television, and has shot Bravo Profiles featuring Billy Bob Thornton and Rod Steiger.
