D.P. CARLSON
D.P. (Dave) Carlson, an award-winning independent filmmaker with Film Foetus, Inc., has been telling Chicago stories since 1988. His work as a producer and director has screened nationwide at film festivals, art houses, universities, and on television — from early music video programs in the Chicago Blues scene and with WORD JAZZ legend Ken Nordine, to the acclaimed feature "Chicago Filmmakers on the Chicago River."
In 1999, Carlson won the Panavision-sponsored Founders Award for Most Promising Midwest Filmmaker. In 2001, the Gene Siskel Film Center honored him with a career retrospective as part of its Starring Chicago series. His recent films dig into the creative minds of Adrian Belew, The Bears, Joe Frank, and KISS's Paul Stanley.
Carlson's corporate and broadcast credits include documentaries for Warner Bros Home Video, Walgreens, MOJO, IN-HD, CSTV, and FoxSportsNet, plus camera work for Discovery Channel, PBS, MSNBC, American Movie Classics, BET, The Learning Channel, and National Geographic — including Bravo Profiles on Billy Bob Thornton and Rod Steiger.
